TDS provides competent and knowledgeable engineers specializing in turbine generator operation, instrumentation and controls.
With our vast experience with steam and gas turbine controls and the personal troubleshooting skills of our engineers, TDS is quite versatile in the troubleshooting and repair of turbine generator operational and control problems.
While having an outstanding knowledge of the way the turbine controls function, our controls knowledge provides our engineers with the expertise of the intended operation of the equipment and can provide guidance and training to the plant operators and technicians. TDS engineers are proficient in GE, Woodward, Westinghouse WDPF, Bailey Control Systems and GE and Bently Nevada TSI Monitoring Systems. TDS has DCS balance of plant controls capability, however, our in depth knowledge is of the design, construction, implementation, operation and functionality of current turbine generators governors and control systems.
TDS services Mechanical Hydraulic Control systems with flyball governors as well as analog and digital electronic turbine governors and control system. TDS is knowledgeable in mechanical drive turbine applications as well as medium & large steam turbine and gas turbine control systems. Our gas turbine experience includes water injection, fuel regulator, DLN1 and DLN2, up to DLN2.6 combustion controls. Our engineers are very proficient at troubleshooting turbine generator control system problems. TDS can provide technical assistance with control problem diagnostics, start up support, and calibration direction working with customer supplied technicians, or supply TDS calibration & control technicians. TDS has the calibration equipment required to calibrate all the turbine field instrumentation and simulate control system functions.
TDS startup engineers are knowledgeable with the installation, checkout, commissioning and startup of turbine generator controls and DCS systems. TDS can assist with all phases of installation and startup of the equipment.
TDS provides any level of controls and calibration services required or desired by the customer, from only technical direction in forced outage emergencies to complete turbine generator field instrumentation and control system calibration during planned outages. TDS can conduct function al off line turbine trip testing along with assistance with on line overspeed trip testing. TDS can stroke and calibrate the turbine generator control valves and verify line settings of the control systems by simulation.
